July was an amazing month.

It started off with a gig at the Mado Lounge 52 Floors above Tokyo in front of ceiling to floor windows breaking in a brand spanking new Funktion One Turbosound PA system. The sound crew were actually still taking off the wrappers when I was setting up for my sound check.

Following that I joined the Grain Records Tour Down to Osaka and Fukui. It was absolutely fantastic and so much fun, I am so happy and inspired to be a part of the Grain Records crew.

A big thanks to everyone who brought us down and showed us such a great time and to all who came to stroke chins and/or shake some booty.

The next weekend was spent in the mountains of Chichibu with Monster Stereo and the Just Do It! crew. Again stellar sound and true, from the bottom of the heart techno spirit.

I simply cannot put the experience into words so I am not even going to try. Love and respect to all who came down and those who made it happen.

Then to top it all off on the last weekend a two and a half hour drive deep into Yamanashi to play an outdoor party at a camp site modeled after a primitive Japanese village. Steep green ravines and misty skies, a crystal clear river and turbosound...

I am so grateful for everyone who has given such love and respect to me and my music, for teaching me how to get my hula hoop action on and the incalculable value of play.

Looking forward to many more months like this.

First we will do a show at Vano in Osaka on Friday night before heading down to Fukui to play at Casa on the Saturday.

I will be touring with Grain records' co-founder and DJ John Connell and Grain artists and producer extraordinaire Yasuhara Motomiya.

Mr connell is renowned in Tokyo for his innovative and forward thinking DJ sets. His impeccable musical aesthetic coupled with solid mixing skills and an inborn sense of movement and atmosphere sets the scene for more than just a bunch of hit records beat matched one after the other.

Motomiya-san is an emerging techno force on the Japanese scene and is deserved of the attention. His intricate productions yield a pallete of sound scapes, beats and melodies that are interwoven into a strange kind of madness that slowly captivates and then subtly destroys all known perceptions of techno.

I will be doing a live set of 100 percent original material and am feeling rather acidic this time round. Rockwest is large enough to accommodate a small crowd but small enough to get deep and funky.

It's going to be fun.

The music you hear is a track I produced called Serillo.

James and I are thinking of doing a few more collaborations in AV so I am very excited.

Thanks for the clip James.

NEWS : Oracle Presents Shane Berry Live

On Saturday April 19th I will be joining Oracle for a session at the extremely funky venue Mame Sora in Daikanyama.

The name means Beans Man and if a Jazz live house and a Kyoto tea garden had a love child this would be it. Although no description could ever do it justice; the space has to be seen to be believed.

There is a bar, a dance floor and plenty of space to hang out and enjoy some cutting edge and contemporary electronic music.
