Shane Berry is a South African born audio producer and live techno performer.
Shane is well known for his debut track “Fillertet2” on Trapez LTD, with its legendary noise break, and since then his productions and releases have been praised and played by artists and DJs as wide afield as Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath to Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo.
Though always on the more minimal side of production Shane doesn’t fit squarely into one genre and rarely attempts to fit into any mould-of-the-moment or cookie cutter trends. Most of his productions are intricate and sophisticated and require a certain amount of commitment to fully appreciate. He deliberately plays with common dance music expectations to create interest and dynamic tension that leaves some utterly lost and others gasping for more.
His tracks are challenging and those DJs who do take the time to get to know the tracks and work them into their sets know full well the incredible impact his music has on a dance floor full of people.

Releases and Remixes.
His notable record “Fillertet 2” on Trapez Ltd., a huge underground club hit, was championed by DJs such as Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin and remixed by Dominik Eulberg and Gabriel Ananda.
His unusual track “SimonSis1”, loosely based on the eighties toy game Simon Says, was licensed by Ministry of Sound by James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli for their compilation One+One and the track “For a Moment”, from Shane`s epic follow up EP on Trapez Ltd., “To There”, was included by Richie Hawtin on his DE9 lite mix on the cover compilation cd of MIXMAG 05/06.
Shane has also released on Damon Wild`s seminal Techno label Synewave NYC has tracks out on newer labels such as Gluckskind Schallplatten, Grain Records, Japanese label Moph records and on the label Dirty Works Records.
In 2009 he collaborated with Japanese legend DJ Wada (Co-Fusion) on the track “Kalin” for Wada’s album “One” on Sublime Records.
His remix of 3 channel`s “Kinda Hectic” on Trapez went to #4 top downloads at beatport “techno” upon its release in 2008.
He has also collaborated with and re-mixed Kyoto based multimedia artist Baiyon for Dublin’s D1 Recordings as well as a number of renowned remixes for Rennie Foster on Dirty Works.
His remix “Thought Tanked” for GWC artist Aural Imbalance was a featured download of the week on renowned music blog Little White Earbuds and was met with glowing reviews.
Live Performances.
Shane is a seasoned DJ and live performer and he performs regularly on the underground scene in Tokyo.
His energetic and intense live shows for Taico Club and other events at clubs such as Womb, Yellow, Module and Ageha have seen him share the stage with artists such as Nathan Fake, Aril Brikha and Dominik Eulberg and Japanese legend DJ Wada.
Shane integrates live performance with DJing and blends together a tailor made selection of his own releases, productions, loops and live improvisations, layers them with carefully selected thematic samples recorded from the Internet, and delivers them to the dance floor with a renowned intensity that whips the crowd into a frenzy and often leaves them screaming for more.

When not preparing for, and playing, live shows or producing tracks Shane works as an audio consultant for two Creative Media Agencies in Tokyo providing them with technical advice on audio related issues and provides audio content for multimedia projects, film projects, promo shorts and the occasional TV commercial.
Shane also provides creativity and audio production workshops in his studio in Harajuku, Tokyo.
