I recently had the opportunity to ride around Tokyo filming with a GoPro Hero HD helmet camera. I was in Yoyogi Park experimenting with it when I saw a BMXer freestyling near the Harajuku gate and I thought it would be interesting to get footage of his POV as he pulled off various tricks so I asked him to put the camera on his head and do a few.

It took a little convincing but in the end he agreed and we got some great footage out of it.

Web Trends Map 4 Project from shane berry on Vimeo.

Project: iA Webtrends Map 4

Client: Information Architects (iA)

Role: Composition/Recording/Arrangement/Sound Design

Synopsis:

The web teaser I did for iA (Information Architects) Web Trends Map 4.

In the sound brief I was asked by iA CEO Oliver Reichenstein to make a dark and dirty track to promote his 4th incarnation of the popular Web Trends Map series.

The work is based around train sounds, an ambiguous train announcement and heavy twisted beats. The music is edited from a full length 7 minute track that I scored and arranged specifically for this project.

For the web teaser I added some sound work to enhance the iA Logo splash and dramatize the train rushing through the stations.

Project: Google: Making It Easy For Your Customers

Client: Google/Ultra Super New

Role: Sound Design/Music Score

Synopsis:

The sound brief was to create a sound bed that appealed to a smart kid around 12 years of age.

The music had to be fun and light but not annoying and intrusive to the narration.

The animation was given some character by designing and layering in various sound effects and movements and of course timing them to the sequences.
